It may be from staying up too late to read two volumes in a day but Mind Blown! That was a fantastic volume and a solid reveal。

2。5 💛 rounded up。 Huh, wasn’t expecting that。 Interesting enough twist with the demon lady but Pot head elf is seriously annoying。 I do like Mez’s storyline。 I wonder if there will be a time skip to match up the plot lines? I keep expecting one but so far no dice。 The writing is still bare minimum to get things across and it’s not very well done, but I will stick with the story for now。 Besides, the library is picking up the rest of the series for me。。。~

Best one so far, also really like how it’s totally new material to me (finally caught up to/surpassed the manga [chapter 50。1])!The book itself was great, I couldn’t put it down and before I knew it I was already finished!

Loved itThe story was fun and down to earth。 It was a good intro to the events that involve the demon lords。 I wish it had more about the spiders journey but it helps bring the party’s closer together, can’t wait for the next one

We’ve been rolling right along with this series and now we’ve reached Volume 5。 Volume 4 was my favorite so far, but how does Volume 5 stack up?If I’m being honest, this Volume is definitely toeing the line between being the best of the bunch so far and being the most confusing。 I’m honestly wondering how Okina-san will top herself going forward。 In this Volume, there is so much going on, it’s almost too much to handle。 We see war on two different fronts: the human-demon war happening between Sh We’ve been rolling right along with this series and now we’ve reached Volume 5。 Volume 4 was my favorite so far, but how does Volume 5 stack up?If I’m being honest, this Volume is definitely toeing the line between being the best of the bunch so far and being the most confusing。 I’m honestly wondering how Okina-san will top herself going forward。 In this Volume, there is so much going on, it’s almost too much to handle。 We see war on two different fronts: the human-demon war happening between Shun and the rest of the human reincarnations, and the war happening between an area our spider has decided to hang around and the city just outside of the labyrinth。 Both have some high stakes, and will most definitely will have implications going forward, though I guess the fallout of one of the wars has already been felt?I say that because since this series has side stories that take place in the future of the world our spider is living in, it’s difficult to determine just exactly when everything will line up。 I’m actually really curious as to the motivations of some of the reincarnations and why they decided to side with the Demon Lord。 It’ll also be interesting to find out if they actually know Ms。 Oka’s (the teacher who’s tried to round up all the reincarnations) secrets。 That’s one of the main reasons I’m so eager to keep reading: I want to know how this all plays out。 I want to learn more about these characters we also see glimpses of, and I want to get to the point where we are in one timeline, instead of jumping around。Even with that said that, seeing how much spider-chan has grown, despite being borderline deus-ex machina-esque in a lot of cases, is always a treat to see。 I love seeing how her plans almost always seem to work out。 It goes to show just how much she’s grown, not only in skills and power, but wits。 She’s had to constantly come up with plans, traps and strategies that would allow her to defeat things way above her standing, and even with how strong she’s become, you can never be sure if she’ll make it out of any given situation。 I’m eager to see how much stronger she grows, considering she’s already one of the most powerful creatures in this world。I’m sure it’s going to be a wild ride。 。。。more

The purpose for studying all these light novels lately is to get a feel how the stories pace themselves。 This series in particular underwent changes from the web version to the novel。 This volume particularly had more original content than the ones preceding it。 I can’t say that I enjoyed the book。 Like book 4, there was a minimum of stats dumping。 However, the main character, the Spider, felt like a passenger in her own story while the author focused on “cooler” things elsewhere。 Multiple side The purpose for studying all these light novels lately is to get a feel how the stories pace themselves。 This series in particular underwent changes from the web version to the novel。 This volume particularly had more original content than the ones preceding it。 I can’t say that I enjoyed the book。 Like book 4, there was a minimum of stats dumping。 However, the main character, the Spider, felt like a passenger in her own story while the author focused on “cooler” things elsewhere。 Multiple side characters received their own chapters as the POV bounced around like a pinball。 The author’s tendency to pull deus ex machina plans out of a hat was also in full display。 They usually take the form of “What? Didn’t I mention this before? I started working on this behind the scenes ages ago!” In this volume, the Spider goes on for pages and pages explaining things she knows about humans in town but couldn’t because she doesn’t speak their language, then suddenly, tada! No, she’s been learning all along, silly。 We’re just getting around to letting you know now。 Despite the major revisions done to the story, one could still get a feel for the week by week serialization of the story poking through here and there。 It’s not hard to imagine that this error was caught by Japanese readers, then corrected in the next installment。 However, all was not bad。 Great plot points did converge as events in previous books were now explained。 The past and the present began to intersect。 It was an important volume to read。 Unfortunately, I didn’t enjoy the reduced focus on the main character。 。。。more

My favourite volume so far。 The fight with the demon lord goes in a way that I did not expect and a reason for the demon army wanting to destroy the elves is also given。 Spider chan evolves again and the vampire bloodsucker Sophia is an interesting character。。。 We also find out who White is。 Review will be updated later, but first I gotta read the next volume asap。

I had trouble as to whether I’d give this 3 stars or 4。 In the end, I downgraded to 3 because the previous volumes made me eager to read the next。 This did not, although I’m still very interested in the story。What I liked about this series is still true。 Though there were some aspects about this volume that made me feel like it may go in a direction that I don’t want it to go in。 One aspect is that the first few volumes felt like I was reading a game。 The story and game mechanics were so intertw I had trouble as to whether I’d give this 3 stars or 4。 In the end, I downgraded to 3 because the previous volumes made me eager to read the next。 This did not, although I’m still very interested in the story。What I liked about this series is still true。 Though there were some aspects about this volume that made me feel like it may go in a direction that I don’t want it to go in。 One aspect is that the first few volumes felt like I was reading a game。 The story and game mechanics were so intertwined。 Less so in volume 4 and even lesser so here。 It seems plot has reared its head in place of “gameplay。” Which isn’t bad。。。just not what I loved about the series。 To pile onto that, I really enjoyed the side stories of the previous volumes, but here they felt fluffy, almost filler-ish, as if the author was just filling time until the timelines matched up。 That and I’m really starting to not like Shun。 He is a good character, but he does not listen to anybody and is always putting his friends in danger for selfish reasons。 His character had barely grown too so it’s frustrating sometimes when reading his POV。Without spoilers, my last gripe with this volume is what happens to our main spider protagonist。 She was so endearing and always had an end goal, but at the end of this her character felt very fractured and I wasn’t sure if I wanted to continue following her for fear that something bad will happen to her character。 Sigh。 I have a lot of feelings about this volume and I’m not sure if that’s just because I read these first 5 volumes in such rapid succession。 I still liked most of it。 The second half more-so than the slow first。 。。。more

I finished this so fast! The Shun storyline was actually exciting this vol, and ugh that cliffhanger。 A lot of questions are answered, Ms Oka’s story, background on the Elves and why the Demon King hates them (the hierarchy is nuts), NS’s original identity confirmed, what happened to the missing students, Sophie’s issue, closure on Hugo storyline (sort of), etc。 A lot happens and it works。
